We certainly dodged a bullet tonight! Nearly perfect weather for week #4. Congrats to Mike Murphy for his first MoneyBall win. It was definitely your lucky night Mike! The first ball drawn hit your par, net ace, on #24. Nice hole! Tim will have your winnings next week!
Bob was the top point-earner on the night, shooting just 2-over his handicap on his way to wire-to-wire, 7-2 win over what can only be described as a struggling Tim. It is rare to see Tim with nothing better than double-bogey every hole. Shake it off Tim!
Next up was the Retired, Exec-Comp, lefty matchup of Marty and Dave. Starting out even after 1, Dave took an early lead and never looked back, shooting his handicap and finishing with the 6-3 win.
Brian was matching card with Dan Richardson, who was doing double-duty subbing for Mike Fusco against Mike Murphy. Dan had a rough go of it, while his opponents shot at, or just 1 stroke over their handicaps, resulting in a 5 ½ -3 ½ win for Brian and a 5-4 win for Mike M.
In the straight-up, cousin match, Jim edged out Danny 5-4 in a match so close, they split the bonus point. Dan had the first lead, but then Jim dug in and took the lead for good at the 4th giving him the family bragging rights, for now. Neither has yet faced the newest family member, so, Mike F, we leave it to you to show these guys whos the best! 😊
The remaining 3 matches resulted in ties. Bette was involved in 2 of those matches, as she and Mark battled to a hard-fought draw, with Mark winning the final hole to know the match. Her other match was with hubby Tommy, while leading the match for 7 holes, could not withstand her strong finish to square things up at #8 and keep it even thru the end. Nice clutch play Bette!
Last, but not least, saw Gloria sprint out to a 3 -up lead thru 4, seemingly on her way to another big win. However, she faltered a bit at the midpoint, allowing Andy back into the match, where he too had a win at the final hold to get the match to even. Nice match Glo, the 2nd half of that 9 plays tough, no doubt!
Returning to action, Mark continued the no other streak. Meanwhile, Tom, Gloria and Bette, remain the only players without a loss.
After 4 weeks, Bette is our current leader, moving up from 2nd to 1st as Gloria fell to 2nd. Jim and Tom moved into a tie for 3rd place, followed by Marty in 5th.
Gloria retained her lead here followed by Jim who also held onto his 2nd place spot. Bette moved up from 5th to 3rd and Dave from 7th to 4th, moving Mike F., and Tim from 3rd and 4th place, to 5th and 6th, respectively.

Finally, a little shake-up at the top, as the duo of Brian and Gloria moved into the top spot, followed by Jim and Pete in second place, as Mark and Dave fell to 3rd place. The scores are still very close as we approach the halfway point of the first half of that season. The last place team of Bob and Andy has decided to focus their efforts on the 2nd season 😊
