It was another hot one, as the temps hit into the 90s, and the scores, well, 6 players had their best rounds of the season and 2 others tied their best.  It was a good night for low scores!

The top winner tonight was Marty, allowing just three ˝ point holes to Dan, on his way to the 7 ˝ - 1 ˝ win, with a tidy 3-over par round.  His best of the season. Nice round Marty!

Next up, in his first “official” match sub round, Bret held Jim to just 2 ˝ points, as well as winning the moneyball on the first ball drawn with a net 1 at the 17th hole.  Time to bring that handicap down a bit I think!  Nice round Bret.  I suspect Dan and Jim were still recovering from the wedding festivities in Colorado last week 😊

It didn’t seem to affect young Mike though, as he was one of the four winners in the 5 ˝ - 3 ˝ bracket. It was a close match as Mike would go 1-up, then Matt, subbing for Bette, would get it back to all square, not once, not twice, but three 3 times, before Mike finally held on and pushed forward to finish at 2-up.  Nice match, and thanks again Matt for filling in!

Mark and Tim, both part of that group firing their best rounds of the season, had a similar match, with Tim starting out in the lead, but Mark getting back to all square twice during the round.  Tim finished strong, going 2-up at the 7th, and holding that lead till the end. Well played gentlemen!

Dave fell behind early to sub Adam, but then, dug deep to get back to all square through 5 and continued on for the 2-up win! Way to hang in there ScoopAdam, thank you for helping us out at the last minute.  Hope you enjoyed yourself!

In the match-up between Gloria and Sharon, subbing for Brian, it was a match where both players had the lead at some point, and then returned to all square two times. It was Gloria in the end though, winning the last two holes for the 2-up victory, as she too scored her best round of the season.  Thanks to Sharon also for joining us this week, and for helping us out with the post-round trip to Eagle Crest.

Last but not least, was the match between Andy and Dan Richardson, subbing for Tommy. This duo also was part of the group having their best rounds this season, shooting net 31 and net 30, on their way to a 4 ˝ - 4 ˝ tie with 5 tied holes along the way.  Nice match Dan!

With his big win tonight, Marty has supplanted non-playing Bette, dropping her into the #2 spot, while moving himself up from T3 to 1st place.  Well done Marty! Dave fell from 2nd to 3rd, followed by Tom (also absent tonight) as he moved from T3 to 4thGloria moved up from 6th to 5th place, as Jim fell out of the top five, into 7th place.

NEW for 2022

Virtual Team Competition

Except for the team of Mark and Dave, every team was missing one of their players.  For those teams, it was a good thing, as the team of Mark and Dave started out the 2nd half of the season at the bottom. With only 3 players scheduled to be out this coming week, hopefully the team scores will be a little more representative of the actual teams.  Team results/standings can be seen on the “Schedule” page.

Eagles and Birdies

Surprisingly, despite the good play in general, there were no birdies tonight.

Closest-to-the-pin

We had to resort to the old-school method of recording this, as, in Tommy’s absence, no one remembered to grab the tape measure and marker (we missed you Tom!).  Fortunately, Dave was well inside anyone else’s mark at approximately 4’ Nice shot Dave!
